Face Application
Bro Glo Face Tanner
-
Start with a clean face
Wash your face and pat dry. No moisturizer, no sunscreen - just clean, bare skin. If you have a beard, make sure it's dry too.
-
Pump 5-10 sprays into your palm
Start with less - you can always add more on your next application.
-
Apply evenly across your face
Use your fingertips to blend in circular motions. Cover forehead, cheeks, nose, chin, and jawline. Blend down into your neck so there's no line.
-
Blend at the hairline and ears
Use what's left on your fingers to lightly blend into your hairline, behind your ears, and along your jawline. These are the spots where lines show up.
-
Wash your hands and wait
Wash your hands immediately after application. Let your face dry for 10 minutes before touching it. Your tan will develop over 4-8 hours.
Body Application
Bro Glo Foam Body Tanner
Pro Tip: Use the Applicator Mitt
Applying with bare hands leads to streaky results and orange palms. The mitt gives you an even, streak-free finish every time - it's the difference between looking natural and looking like you missed a spot. Shop the Applicator Mitt
-
Shower and exfoliate
Use a body scrub or exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin. This is the most important step for an even, streak-free tan. Pay extra attention to elbows, knees, and ankles.
-
Dry off completely
Pat yourself completely dry. Any moisture on your skin will dilute the formula and cause streaking. Wait at least 10 minutes after showering.
-
Pump foam onto your mitt
Shake the can well. Pump 2-3 pumps of foam onto your tanning mitt. The mitt is key - don't use your bare hands or you'll end up with orange palms.
-
Apply in sections using long strokes
Start with your arms, then chest, stomach, legs, and back (or have someone help). Use long, even strokes and blend in circular motions. Add more foam as needed.
-
Go light on trouble spots
Use whatever's left on your mitt (no new foam) to lightly go over elbows, knees, ankles, wrists, and hands. These dry areas absorb more and can go darker.
-
Dry for 10 minutes, then get dressed
Wait at least 10 minutes before putting on clothes. Bro Glo is non-staining, but give it a chance to absorb. Your tan develops fully in 4-8 hours.
Do's & Don'ts
Avoid the most common mistakes and get the best tan possible.
Do This
Exfoliate before every application. This is the #1 factor in a streak-free tan.
Use the applicator mitt for body. It prevents orange hands and gives you an even, professional finish.
Start with one coat. You can always build up to a deeper tan. Start light your first time.
Moisturize daily to extend your tan. Hydrated skin holds color longer.
Don't Do This
Don't apply to wet or damp skin. Moisture dilutes the formula and causes streaks and uneven patches.
Don't skip the exfoliation. Old dead skin creates patchy, uneven results. This is the #1 cause of bad reviews.
Don't overload trouble spots. Elbows, knees, and ankles absorb more. Use what's left on the mitt, not fresh product.
Don't shower for 4-8 hours. Give your tan time to develop. Apply before bed for best results.
Application FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we hear most from first-timers.
Your face tanner lasts 3-5 days and body tanner lasts 5-7 days, both fading naturally and evenly. The face fades a bit faster because you wash your face more often and facial skin turns over quicker than the rest of your body - totally normal. To extend your tan, moisturize daily. To build a deeper color, re-apply every 2-3 days.
Absolutely. Wait until your first coat has fully developed (4-8 hours or overnight), then apply a second coat. Or, try our Darker formula for a deeper bronze in one application.
Nope. Bro Glo is specifically formulated to be non-staining. Just let it dry for 10 minutes before getting dressed and you're all good.
Don't panic. Jump in the shower with an exfoliating mitt and scrub the area. Self-tanner sits on the top layer of skin, so exfoliation will even things out. Streaks usually happen because of uneven exfoliation before applying - next time, scrub a little more thoroughly before you apply.
We recommend using each product where it's designed for. The Face Tanner is a water-based, lightweight formula made for the thinner, more sensitive skin on your face and beard area. The Body Tanner is a thicker foam formula built to cover larger areas evenly. Using the right product for the right area gives you the best results.
